Staying in a funeral parlor is weird. You don’t really do much but you feel like you’re going through a lot at the same time. You grieve for a loss but feel immense joy to see your family coming together, home from all parts of the globe all so sudden. And you eat a lot of biscuits and drink a lot of hot stuff. I think I’ve eaten a whole shelf of biscuits the past week, staying up all night and day. I have now become a virtuoso of identifying biscuits and have in fact developed a talent in selecting the best brand and flavor to go with the meal. Skyflakes is best with savory stuff; the rebisco ones best eaten alone. Magic flakes go well with Milo or coffee in all varieties. Hehe but enough about that. My Nanay will be leaving this place in a couple of days. She will be going home to Surigao to finally be laid to rest.
And thus a cloud of anxiety envelopes as we wait for out lives to go back to normal again.
